Thanks to all of you who came to our Council at Delta Delta Delta tonight! Here is a word from this week?s Presidential Spotlight, Megan Stephenson of Pi Beta Phi:
My name is Megan Stephenson and I am from Montgomery, AL. I have loved my college experience here even more because I still have had the opportunity to stay close to my family! I am dual majoring in Human Development and Family Studies and Early Childhood Education. My dual major is really unique because I get the full advantage of the Education program here at Auburn and get the chance to study things that go hand-in-hand with education such as family interactions, child development across the lifespan, and?the importance of professional development.
I have loved being a part of so many things here but one of my favorite things I have participated in is AU Dance Marathon. I was given the chance to be on the "Morale Team," ?which basically means I got to work on keeping team spirits up and making sure the dancers were happy and having fun at the event. We worked through the summer and fall semesters to raise money and get people involved and ready for the big event. When it was finally the "big day" our excitement levels were high and I couldn?t have been more proud to be part of such a great organization and fundraising event! We raised even more money than expected and were able to see Auburn's students come together to celebrate all the money we were able to give to Children's Miracle Network. Seeing everyone come together for a common goal was one of the most amazing things I have seen! I would recommend it for the experience with organizing and keeping up with deadlines, working with amazing people, and having the chance to create miracles for children!
Y?all have a great week!
With a happy heart,
Mary Fran
