The Florida Supreme Court suspended three Tampa Bay attorneys this summer in an order that disciplined a total of 25 lawyers across the state.
Elihu H. Berman of Clearwater was suspended for 10 days. Berman, who has been in practice since 1974, overcompensated himself as a trustee and successor personal representative in the will of a close friend, according to a release from the Florida Bar.
Scott Alan Hunter of St. Petersburg was suspended for 91 days. After that, Hunter will be on probation for three years. Hunter, who was admitted to practice in 1991, pleaded no contest to a variety of misdemeanors including DUI and discharging a firearm in public, according to the Bar. He also failed to report a criminal conviction to the Bar.
Todd Hudson Seiden of Tampa was suspended for 91 days. According to the Bar, Seiden had been accepting clients and taking fees but not actually take action in their cases.
